Skechers, the renowned footwear brand, is venturing into the basketball market and is currently engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the addition of a prominent figure to spearhead their upcoming launch.
According to industry insiders who have been informed about the negotiations, Joel Embiid, the reigning NBA MVP and a star player for the Philadelphia 76ers, is on the verge of finalizing an agreement to become the primary ambassador for Skechers.
While a formal agreement has yet to be inked, sources report that Embiid showcased Skechers footwear during a recent 76ers practice, with the brand's performance team present to assist as he tests out their sneakers. Once the deal is confirmed, Embiid is set to incorporate these new Skechers kicks into his game attire. Embiid, who had been with Under Armour, would be a massive signing for the new Skechers project. It is a weighty potential addition for the company as it jumps into a competitive space.
